Tastes like a very nice oolong; just too light for me, a long-term milk oolong tea drinker who prefers stronger milk / creamy flavor!

The green tea taste is delicate and mild, like a mao feng, and the jasmine aroma is nice and balanced. Most of all, this is just so incredibly relaxing that sometimes it is the right tea to have even if you're not a fan. Mixes well with other green teas, too.

Liu Bao is delicious on its own, but the addition of the chen pi takes it to another level. If I'd bought enough of this one, I'd drink it at least once a week. If you're a fan of shou with chen pi, you will also love this tea.

Let me preface this review by saying I am very picky about black teas. I am not a fan of the bitterness that tends to accompany black teas.

That said -- this tea has NONE of that bitterness. It is smooth, malty, almost honey-like. It performs well in both western steeps and gongfu and is a solid tea for a daily drinker. And as I discovered, it also makes an excellent cold-steeped iced tea!

I have sampled many jasmine teas over the past few years, but this one has to be my favorite. Not only are the rings beautiful in dry form, but the tea itself is smooth, delicate, fragrant, and not bitter at all even after leaving it hot in a thermos for hours. It's not easy to find a jasmine green that resists bitterness as well as this one does.

This was the first tea I ever purchased from Teavivre, and I loved it so much I bought a whole pound. I still drink it regularly, despite adding many other teas to my rotation.

It has a very strong grassy, nutty flavor that performs well both in western steeps and in gongfu. This was the tea that taught me that tea could truly be extraordinary.

This is a solid jasmine green tea. I've had jasmine tea from a few different vendors, but this Teavivre one is the best one I've tried. It's balanced, floral, and lasts for 2-3 western steeps without getting bitter. The jasmine does fade out by the 3rd steep, but leaves a nice green tea flavor.

This jasmine tea is floral without being overwhelming. I've had jasmine teas before that smack you in the face with jasmine and taste like soap. This is NOT one of those. This is a very well balanced tea and an easy daily drinker.

This tea is hands down one of my favorites, earthy and forest-like, with a tang of citrus underneath. Don't knock it until you've tried it. It is helpful to break it up first before you brew.

Lasts for 3-4 western steeps and many gongfu steeps.

Between ripe pu erh and dark tea, I always chose dark tea. This is another confirmation that this rule works for me. It is a robust tea, offering interesting combination of tastes. Raw Pu er is still my favorite, but this is something I would not refuse to try again.

I bought this tea set during a recent sale because it was at a great discount and I actually didn't have a full gong fu set beforehand (only a basic travel kit). Seeing the pottery was from Yixing also raised my desire to buy it, given that region's notoriety for quality teaware.
First off, the box that it came in is fantastic. It's appealing to look at and it's great for keeping things stored when not in use. When not using the teaware here, I make sure I wash and fully dry the teaware first, then store it back in the box to keep everything safe.
As for the teaware itself, it's outstanding. While it's certainly not decorative by any means, there's a simple beauty and elegance to it nonetheless. It makes me imagine the way tea was enjoyed many generations ago. You can see the pottery work itself was really well-done, with everything being smooth and symmetrical, without any noticeable signs of errors. The clay is thick, nothing here feels like it's delicate by any means, which is good for a starter or daily usage tea set. Plus, it just feels great in the hands. There's a satisfying quality to the feel when you run a finger across the various surfaces.
When it comes to making tea in it... I'm not sure if it's just a placebo, but something about making my tea in this set gives the tea a more robust taste than I get in a gaiwan or even my amazing Ru Yao Xishi teapot. I can't really explain it, but the first tea I made with this set was a Shou Mei white tea (also from Teavivre) and it tasted better than it ever has. It also had a thicker body, which I do like with teas that are warming like Shou Mei.
I also like the level of heat retention here: it retains just the right amount of heat. Not so much that you'll extract unwanted bitterness/astringency, but enough to keep the teaware warm while you infuse the tea itself. Keep in mind, though: the teapot itself seems to have around an 8-10 second pour, so I'd recommend only brewing teas with longer infusion times and relying on a gaiwan for teas with shorter infusion times.
Altogether, this tea set is fantastic for newcomers and experienced tea fanatics alike. For those of us with some level of experience, it works amazingly as a daily usage set, though it definitely does lack the decorative aspects you may want when enjoying your tea with other people. Nonetheless, for the price point, it's pretty hard to beat!

This is my first Yixing teapot, and I use it regularly, primarily for brewing raw pu-erh tea. It's actually my second teapot, as I dropped the first one after just one week, breaking the lid. But I was so pleased with it that I immediately ordered a new (identical) one. It's a great introduction to Yixing teapots! The clay is beautiful, the construction is good, and it seals tightly, preventing tea from leaking when pouring.

While promoted as Rich and aromatic, I found this tea different. At 2,5 years it has lost its youthful astringency, but is is still to find its old age wisdom.
It has almost no aroma, very faint at the nose and on the tongue.
As plus, it is rather oily, and leaves pleasant aftertaste in the back of the throat.
Considering the price it is OK to drink now, especially as working companion, but it would also be interesting to see where it gets in a yea or two.

This is my first raw pu'er tea, so take my review with reservations.
I have to fully agree with another reviewer that it gives off a colour, smell and taste similar to silver needle for the first few steeps. I have also noticed that it becomes quite astringent after 4th steep. I kept the steeps short, perhaps I oversteeped it a little bit, but I believe that a more robust tea wouldn't give so much astringency from a few seconds of oversteep.
I am rating this 4 stars because of the astringency, otherwise I found the aroma very rich.

This tea is my first foray into Dark Tea. And I will be coming back for more.
This tea is robust, I accidentally oversteeped on my 4th or 5th steep for 5 minutes, and it still produced a few more steeps without any astringency at any point. It has the markings of the golden flower.
I personally love the flavour, it tastes like barbecued mushrooms, or perhaps smoked mushrooms. I am rating this 5 stars only based on it’s brewing qualities as I understand that flavour is very subjective, especially

I bought this as a daily-drinker, and it is exactly what I wanted. It tastes even better than loose-leaf Bai MuDan I tried previously (which I also loved), and it can last for many steeps, with the 3rd and 4th steeps being the peak.

The first time I saw Jianzhan on this website, I knew I would order a piece at some point as I was mesmerized by its beauty. Although I deliberated for some time before deciding on this cup, I was worried it would look kitsch in real life. However, my worries were immediately laid to rest when I saw the elegance and sturdiness of this cup for the first time.
Function-wise, it holds an entire gaiwan‘s contents, which is perfect for solo sessions. It holds heat decently, so I actually try to pre-warm it before pouring tea in it. Also, it has some weight to it (which is the case with most Jianzhan from what I gather), which makes me less worried about accidentally knocking it over.
I do not know a lot about teaware nor history of Jianzhan, therefore my judgement is only surface level.
