Organic Tian Mu Mao Feng Green Tea 5gm free sample from a 2025 picking.
This 2025 green Tea was lovely to drink, the wet leaf scent was so floral and fragrant. The liquor was a lovely color of lemon/green tones. We were very happy with the taste of this Tea......but we haven't tried the 2026 picking. Based on what we drank today this tea (if the 2026 picking is similar) would be a delicious affordable daily drinker. Teavivre's brewing instructions say it gives 3 brews, but we coaxed some more tasty brews out of this session.

My favorite tea from another seller (Trident Cafe) is the Fruity Lapsang Souchong, which is an unsmoked, unflavored Lapsang Souchong that tastes strongly of strawberries, but I frequently order from Teavivre and I love the Ancient Wild Black Yunnan Dian Hong from here, so I was hopeful that a wild Lapsang Souchong would deliver on all of my favorite qualities of both.
This is definitely its own tea -- but WOW. The light color of the liquor belies the strong chocolate-rose taste of it, bitter and clean, floral and sweet. This tea tastes expensive and refined, and would be a show-stopper at a tasting party. I have only brewed it western style (194 degrees F), but now I want to try it in a gaiwan to see how it evolves.

This is a lovely tea to drink. Green beans, chestnut and floral notes are evident. We get more than the 5 brews out of this tea and the additional brews though weaker still have a lot of flavor. A very enjoyable tea to drink.

Xin Yang Mao Jian Green Tea 5gm sample 2026 picking from Spring Tea Discovery Set B. This was a very light tea, we followed Teavivre's brewing guidelines. For us this is not a tea we would buy, there are other green teas from Teavivre that we prefer. It gives 4 decent brews but trying a 5th brew there was very little taste left. This would be good for one person for a short session but if brewing for two people I would use more than the 4 grams that Teavivre recommends for a session, but that comment is just for our tastes. Good to try as a sample and see if it suits you. It could be good in the evening as we did not find it a strong tea.

Organic Hangzhou Tian Mu Qing Ding Green Tea 5 gram sample 2026 picking from the Spring Tea Discovery Set B. The tea was pleasant to drink with the wet leaf having a pleasant floral scent. Tea tea leaves a lovely coating in the mouth with a sweet aftertaste. The tea liquor was a very lovely yellow/green color.
This tea will not give you many brews just 4 of them and we followed Teavivre's brewing guidelines so the tea session did not disappoint. This tea would be good if you just wanted a short tea session, nothing lengthy but still enjoyable.

Four stars is me being a bit generous, here. This tea is not exactly disappointing, but it sure doesn't dazzle. I notice a nice little pucker of astringency on the finish, which causes the mouth to water, but the flavor and character of the tea in general is just ... pretty good. Not mind-blowing, but nothing I'd raise a fuss over. I've been brewing it English style, with a 2 or 3 minute initial steep, then adding a minute for a second steeping. I tried one brew with gongfu style, and my appreciation was about the same.

Handmade Ming Qian Dong Ting East Mountain Bi Luo Chun Green Tea 5gm sample from the Spring Tea Discovery Set A. This is a very good tea to drink.
Beautiful floral wet leaf fragrance, with nutty overtones. This tea coats the mouth thickly and the taste lingers. The tea liquor is wonderfully cloudy with tea bud hairs. We enjoyed this tea session and I hope you get to enjoy some of this Handmade Ming Qian Dong Ting East Mountain Bi Luo Chun Green Tea too!

Like others, I find this tea to have a vegetal smell and taste. I could see a resemblance to chestnut, but to me it is more similar to artichoke. Even the sweet aftertaste is strongly reminiscent of how water tastes after you eat artichoke. I wonder if it’s the same chemical compound.

Award Winning Huo Shan Huang Ya Yellow Tea 5gm sample 2026 picking. Spring Tea Discovery Set A.
I was surprised by how much we enjoyed this tea. It's lighter and brighter than the Green teas we normally drink. Lightly chestnut and floral in the taste with a glorious lemon yellow liquor. The wet tea leaf scent was beautiful, lot of floral notes. We followed the brewing instructions and after the 5th brew we were able to get a few more brews by slightly increasing the water temperature to 90 degrees with less water in the gaiwan and the tea although lighter in taste was still enjoyable. Lovely tea session and I would buy this tea.
