Black tea is my favorite category of teas. Many of my fellow tea enjoyers prefer more niche or nuanced categories; see puerhs, post-fermenteds, complex oolongs, greens--but for me, black is a memory. Yellow competes for the top spot, but my heart always comes back to black tea for comfort.
This is a full-bodied, classic black tea. It warms my heart and my soul, and the flavor is exactly what you'd expect--honey, warms, and comfort. I grew up drinking black tea; I won't stop anytime soon.

The strawberry oolong is solid. It's not one I reach for often; but when I do, it's a nice treat. That being said, I can only give it three stars--simply because there are many teas from TeaVivre that I prefer much more!
It's sweet, and the strawberry taste is closer to that of an artificial strawberry (think hints of pink starburst), but that's not a bad thing. I'm a fan of artificial strawberry, and there are few teas that alone can bring the flavor bomb of a perfect fruit. It's especially nice in iced tea blends--but it hits the spot as an oolong, too. I likely wouldn't order it too often, but I would certainly consider ordering it again.

Wow, I loved this one on the first sip! It's really my style. I've had Liu An Gua Pian before, but this one is on another level. I need to grab a bag next time I run out of green tea.
One aspect I don't see in other reviews, but I noticed immediately, was the roasted note. It's relatively more subtle than you would get with a roasted oolong, but definitely in there. The description mentions the 3x sha qing process, with the windows closed, which must be what leads to this.
Besides that, I agree with some other commenters on: nutty, sweet corn, savory, mellow, thick, and robust.
I did shorter steeps than recommended in the brewing guide, and it turned out well.

I came across my previous review of this product, and I felt that it makes a huge injustice to this gaiwan - so I decided to add another one.
Few months have passed and I managed to master brewing tea with this beautiful gaiwan with no problems. Yes, it is heavy and big, and I needed some skill to be developed holding it. Once I got used to hold it tight enough in my hand and pour the water assertively and quickly - the whole experience changed, I manage to pour the liquid smoothly without any frustrations. I use this gaiwan mostly for oolong tea, because of its heat retention qualities.

This is one of the few teas that I sample every year and consider them for buying in bulk in terms of my personal tea drinking habits.
I didn't left any 2024 picking for the side by side comparison but from my memory the picking from 2025 is a bit different from the 2024: 2025 is more sweet and fruity, and 2024 was more flowery but also showed some pleasant bitterness which totally hit that "fragrant" in the name.
The picking from 2025 besides being sweet and fruity (ripe berries, dried fruits), it's also very cooling on the palate, in contrast to its warm and toasty entrance.

Tried this one and it’s just… really chill. Starts a bit green and leafy, then suddenly goes all sweet and smooth like it’s decided to behave. Feels clean, easy to drink, and kind of “forest-y” without being weird about it. I kept sipping without thinking — very laid-back sheng energy.

This is an excellent tea. Very hello with a slight floral mid note and a deeper robust finish. Only a tad tannic, but I did brew it stronger than the suggested amount and longer brew. I thought the 2nd steep as good, maybe a bit more complex than the first. I will but again

I noticed the sticky rice aroma the second I opened the bag! tastes like plain sticky rice with a light grainy sweetness and hints of forest floor. Later steeps are sweeter with more pronounced forest floor. Tea liquor is a pretty red brown color. Tea energy is pleasant.

This review is based on a sample, prepared gongfu style.
Dry leaves are fine twists, unbroken buds and leaves, with some visible trichome highlights.
In the cup, it's sweet and smooth with a lovely, clear orange/amber color: no denying the quality here. Fragrance is fruity/floral, and I do get the unique "plum" note. The strength of both fragrance and flavor are good. While this particular flavor didn't click with me enough that I would order a full bag over my usual favorites, I did still enjoy it, and it was not quite like any other tea I've tried to date.
I recommend sampling this. It's very good tea, and for the right person, it could become a staple.

I tried this one and it’s just a very solid, no-drama Yunnan black. It’s got that usual Dian Hong mix of malt and gentle sweetness, but it feels a bit cleaner and smoother than average — like it’s been tidied up around the edges. There’s a slight cocoa thing going on, a little dried fruit if you pay attention, but nothing too loud or weird. It’s the kind of tea I’d happily drink while doing something else: reliable, comforting, and easy to finish a pot of without really noticing how fast it went.

Amazing. Smoky aroma. Smokyish taste, but has that honeysuckle sweetness of a white tea, especially in earlier steeps, but also throughout, mixed with the olive robustness. Quite a unique taste. Smooth body. Sweet. Developed depth as it went. One of my favourite oolongs :)
