this is my first unsmoked lapsang. I've had the smoked version before and can say this is pretty solid. Not the best most complex ever made but i really do like the sweet potato flavor.

I got this tea as a free sample, many thanks to Teavivre for it. I brewed it by the gaiwan method. Leaves are nice small firstling. Tea itself is a mild but delicious. It is not bitter but sweet, smooth, grassy, a bit citrusy and very fresh. Very nice tea, unfortunately a bit pricey to me (I mean this type generally not TV's one).

nice jasmine tea, not too sweet green tea, not tart, beautiful to have the flowers inside. Good for the price, but not as good as the superfine jasmine Downy dragon pearl, my favorite, but more expensive.

I've had this tea before from a local tea shop before getting it in a white tea sample pack from Teavivre. Don't let the price fool you, it's one of the teas that opened my eyes to what tea can really be. It gives about eight to nine infusions in the gaiwan, starting off with a mineral taste, then after a few infusions it transforms into a wonderful honey taste. After the honey mellows out, starts giving you a bit of mineral again, and then you can kill steep it for as long as you want and the last bit of honey comes out. Amazing tea.

I really didn't know what to expect of this tea, but the aroma was not overwhelming, but somehow my whole room smelled wonderfully. The liquid is very light, almost like it's only water. I only had one sample but I really liked it, it was very soothing and left a nutty mouthfeel.

Amazing black tea, just incredible. The taste lingers for ten to fifteen sips after just a couple of sips! Very fruity but not overwhelming like a soft Ceylon. This tea really is like a movie. Just amazing, all recommendations.

A wonderful daily drinker white tea. Very sturdy, you really can't ruin it, and it lasts a long time. Goes smoothly down the throat with a classic white tea honey taste. Refreshing.

5g/180F/12oz 5 steeps: 25s, 45s, 70s, 90s, 150s 4g/180F/12oz 5 steeps: 30s, 60s, 90s, 3m, 6m Taste: Vegetal, spice, a bit of milkiness, with a hint of peach. tl,dr; Great tea if I do the infusions quickly. Bitter if I wait too long between infusions. My first attempts at brewing this tea, with 5 infusions, resulted in infusions 3, 4, and 5 being bitter. After an exchange of emails with Teavivre, I tried a different amount of tea with different steeping times, and got the same result. But it occurred to me to wonder why infusions 1 and 2 weren't the least bit bitter, and the remaining infusions were very bitter. Because of the way my work and study are structured, I do the first two infusions first thing in the morning, and the remaining 3 infusions come hours later, spaced out over the remainder of the day. So I tried doing all the infusions first thing in the morning, each infusion immediately after the previous infusion. This eliminated the bitterness. Unfortunately, this also meant having open cups of tea sitting in the kitchen during the day, with the potential to be knocked over and spilled. So this doesn't work for me. Conclusion: You can get 5 excellent cups of tea from either 4 or 5 grams of tea, provided you don't wait too long between infusions. For that reason I gave it 5 stars. However, I need to space the infusions out over the whole day, which results in bitter tea. As much as I like this tea when it isn't bitter, there are other teas that I like just as well and that I can steep when it fits my schedule. One final note: Different things taste bitter to different people. If all this talk about bitterness is putting you off, try a sample and see how it tastes for you. When this tea is good, it's very good.

Surprisingly the wet leaves were bright green like green tea, although the taste was typical white tea. This is a light tea (as most of white teas) with sweetness, honey, a bit of floral notes and a pinch of cinnamon to make taste a bit more complex and interesting. Overally very pleasent tea. I liked it very much, unfortunately it is completely out of my budget.

very nice green tea. refreshing, vegetal, sweet, some fruity notes too. Very enjoyable, especially for that price.

The bag contained a nice round mini cake in an elegant paper wrapper.<br /> I brewed it by the gaiwan method. The cake was not too tightly pressed so it fall apart in just 3 infusions. Wet leaves gave typical strong young puerh smell with sweet fruitiness. Tea was darker then usual young sheng while tasted bitter at the beginning (not too bitter but just fine to me) with some smokiness which had a nice floral hui gan. After 4-5 infusions the bitterness started to fade away and taste turned to be smooth and sweet fruity with honey notes. Late infusions (around ~10th) turned to be light with some citrusy notes.<br /> I found a nice tea with both bitterness and sweet fruity/floral notes at the same time. I liked the small cake too which was easy to brew and could be a good choice for travelling. It can benefit from some more aging.

I got this tea as a free sample (thanks to Teavivre). I used the gaiwan method to brew it.<br /> Wet leaves gave off a pleasant scent of dark chocolate and a bit of pungent vegetables. Brewed tea smelled like smooth caramel and chocolate with fruity sidenotes. Taste of the tea was also smooth/creamy caramel with chocolate on the front which turned to be fruity during the sip. Aftertaste was fruity with a bit of citrusy sourness. As I progressed with the steeps, it turned from chocolatey to be more and more fruity.<br /> Overall the tea was more on the lighter &quot;red tea&quot; side than on the very strong &quot;blackish&quot; which was just good pairing with the complex and comfortable taste (and I prefer this style as well). I liked it so much!

Beautiful, golden, caramelly and full bodied.

I find aged white teas on top of my list of favorites so i was very curious about this one because it is raw pu erh and while i like raw pu erh ( ripe is my pick anytime) that astringency is not my thing when overpowering. But this tea was a pleasant surprise i didn't expect!! In first steep strong but not overpowering fruit taste and as you go it just ads another layer without loosing overall mouthfeel of that sweet, fruity and floral taste. No astringency whatsoever just some light dryness toward the end steeps. It is gentle but not weak in taste. I am so glad i bought hole bag and i am ordering it again definitly!! Beautiful!

A light Shu Pu'erh from TeaVivre. Cognac colored soup, with sweet notes of mid-wet forest. I prefer darker and thicker Shu. Still pleasant to drink.

Very sweet right from the start, berry jam aroma, later turns to tropical fruits character. There's some floral element wondering about but my mind is focusing mostly on the fruity. With the first steep this tea presents itself as very thick and coats the whole mouth. After few steeps bitternes starts showing but doesn't last long and it's quickly overpowered by huigan. Very approachable with oomph factor, albeit not that much evolving taste wise. That's what I got from a sample, I might get a cake in the future.

It has an elegant appeareance with exquisite crafsmanship. But it feels stronger than it looks. Together with the matching tea cups, it elevate my tea brewing experience.

Nice tea. Has a kind of strong nutty or roasted taste to it with something pleasantly vegetal. Kind of like a green and oolong tea at the same time.

Definitely has a nice (but not very intense) fruity aroma of black/red fruits, I'm thinking berries, grape, pomegranate. The taste is good but a little bit weak, just barely sweet and about as much bitter.

this has been such a wonderful sampler - I picked up this one and the Taiwanese oolong one, and everything from start to finish with my order went incredibly smooth. Delivery came earlier than expected, and I’ve been working through the tea. Absolutely wonderful, and I’m already preparing another order.
