I followed the directions and used 1.5 tsp for an 8 oz cup, and steeped for 4 minutes, but I got only a little flavor out of it. This appears to be made entirely of toasted buckwheat, and it has a pleasant aroma of toasted grains. I don't plan on getting this again.

I've had a sample from 2024 harvest and decided to give it a try. Straight from the first steep I understood why this Dian Hong was award winning. Along the usual delicate notes found with bud only Dian Hong, this one has a couple more things going on that balance just right with the rest of its character. There's a peculiar fruity aspect that hovers somewhere around stone fruits, and it intertwines perfectly with floral honey and dark chocolate notes. All the way until the end it's possible to detect all of these notes with a small variations (it gets more cocoa by the end instead of fruity).
I think I'll grab a sample of 2025 to try before getting trying the upcoming 2026 harvest.

Sweet and inoffensive ripe puer, that I would happily recommend to anyone interested in the style but afraid of off smells and flavors. Fermentation scent seems to have long since dissipated but the tea still has good body and strength.
This is supplemental to the actual tea, but I really appreciate that all the puer I have received from this store has been both appropriately packed for long term storage and appropriately humidified for immediate consumption.

If someone told me this is a ripe Pu Erh I would believe it. This Liu Bao doesn't have that funk that I'm familiar with (maybe just a touch), and because of which I'm not too often in the mood for it.
The mouthfeel is on the thick side with oily impression which feels comforting in colder days. The earthiness isn't too expressed but it goves slightly dry impression in the finish. Chenpi that comes in a form of thin strips isn't overpowering and enhances the experience with a mild citrusy contrast.

A smooth and full flavor, not bitter. A touch of chocolate and wood. No unpleasant aftertaste, as sometimes occurs with Ripe Pu-Erh. A classic tea for everyday use. I brewed the tea in my Yixing teapot (the one with the broken and glued lid).

The green tea taste is delicate and mild, like a mao feng, and the jasmine aroma is nice and balanced. Most of all, this is just so incredibly relaxing that sometimes it is the right tea to have even if you're not a fan. Mixes well with other green teas, too.

Liu Bao is delicious on its own, but the addition of the chen pi takes it to another level. If I'd bought enough of this one, I'd drink it at least once a week. If you're a fan of shou with chen pi, you will also love this tea.

Let me preface this review by saying I am very picky about black teas. I am not a fan of the bitterness that tends to accompany black teas.<br />
<br />
That said -- this tea has NONE of that bitterness. It is smooth, malty, almost honey-like. It performs well in both western steeps and gongfu and is a solid tea for a daily drinker. And as I discovered, it also makes an excellent cold-steeped iced tea!

I have sampled many jasmine teas over the past few years, but this one has to be my favorite. Not only are the rings beautiful in dry form, but the tea itself is smooth, delicate, fragrant, and not bitter at all even after leaving it hot in a thermos for hours. It's not easy to find a jasmine green that resists bitterness as well as this one does.

This was the first tea I ever purchased from Teavivre, and I loved it so much I bought a whole pound. I still drink it regularly, despite adding many other teas to my rotation.<br />

This is a solid jasmine green tea. I've had jasmine tea from a few different vendors, but this Teavivre one is the best one I've tried. It's balanced, floral, and lasts for 2-3 western steeps without getting bitter. The jasmine does fade out by the 3rd steep, but leaves a nice green tea flavor.

This jasmine tea is floral without being overwhelming. I've had jasmine teas before that smack you in the face with jasmine and taste like soap. This is NOT one of those. This is a very well balanced tea and an easy daily drinker.

This tea is hands down one of my favorites, earthy and forest-like, with a tang of citrus underneath. Don't knock it until you've tried it. It is helpful to break it up first before you brew.<br />
