A lot of tastes in this one! For me, it took 2 or 3 attempts until I got the brewing right. Was already close to regretting having bought the entire cake. Most notable for me is the smoky note. The wet leaves smell a bit like root cellar, but not strongly, and like candied fruit I'd say. Long lingering aftertaste, very strong energy. Nearly gets me a bit jittery. Nice warming properties too! I wish I could get a few more brews out of it.

A wonderful Lapsang Souchong with a rich aroma, smooth taste, and a pleasant lingering aftertaste. My family and I really enjoyed it. We liked it so much that I ordered another 8 oz. I also like to try the EU Standard Lapsang Souchong (Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong) to compare the two.

I can confidently say that this is one of the teas I have enjoyed the most. I prepared it using the gongfu cha method, for a total of eight infusions, not including the rinse.
During the first three infusions, it displays an intense yet remarkably clear ruby-red colour. These initial brews reveal milky flavours, highly fragrant floral aromas, and a subtle hint of spice, probably resulting from the medium roast.
From the fourth to the sixth infusion, the colour shifts to a pale golden hue, and a very pronounced honey flavour begins to emerge, followed by a delicate bitter finish reminiscent of walnut.
The 7th and 8th infusions develop a very soft copper colour, while the flavour becomes more subdued, with notes also characteristic of other teas, reminiscent of what I would describe as “sweet earth”.
This is an exquisite tea, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Heavily roasted and mineral. The floral, fruity, or cinnamon aroma are only a faint aftertaste. I know oolongs sometimes need to rest to reduce the roasted aroma, but how can I rest just a sample? I usually agree with the tasting notes on teavivre, but not at all this time. Counting it as a dud.

It is smooth with a subtle sweetness that tastes initially like a green tea almost but as you get to the 3rd infusion it comes into its own flavour profile. If you are looking for something a bit different in an oolong this is something to try.

Wonderful aroma, but after 2 or 3 infusions, it changes into a direction I don't really like. The floral notes fade and one particular flavour becomes overpowering. I would describe it as vegetal, I think. I only had a sample and it might have been due to the way I brewed it. Still, very good tea!

Nice black tea with noteable sweetness and caramel as well as malty notes. Aftertaste brings some lingering, barely perceivable smokiness. Good for sweet breakfast. The buds look adorable. I kept steeping times even shorter than recommended, but my gaiwan has a small capacity.

Very nice, the was smooth and mellow, with a thick feel on the tongue, it has also subtle notes of sweetness and woodsy notes. The colour was a red ruby that seemed to glow. It was good for many infusions I had 6 infusions with this tea.

My first black tea was an Assam tea,which I liked a lot,until I tasted this Diang hong.
This has to be the numer one black tea of all black teas.
It has a strong dark chocolate,cherry taste,a combination of honey,banana bread..Surprisingly no bitterness at all,it has a malty taste, but in a pleasant way.Also it has a note of apricot jam and berries.
My top 3 black teas are:Diang hong/keemun imperial/Lapsang wild-non-smoked.

This is a top tea,a combination of green forest and summer meadow.
My first impresions is this tea taste is very complex and aromatic,you can feel the floral notes,sweetness,grass,and light fruttiness.
I drink it with a little bit of acacia honey.

I've received this green tea as a sample in my first order from this website.All my teas were black teas except 2 oolong.
I've never tasted green tea before.I thought I could never like other tea the way I love to drink black teas.
This green tea made me change completely my taste in teas,now I can say that I love Green Teas,they are my number one.
