Method: Gaiwan Temperature: 85-90C Rinse: No Brewing time (sec): 10, 10, 15, 15, 15, 20 Probably one of the most underrated tea in this shop. PLEASE AVOID BOILING WATER. despite it being an oolong, it is very close to being a green tea. treat it as such. No need to rinse too as the leaves are not tightly rolled. It has incredible Hui Gan (回甘) and a really light buttery finish that coats your tongue. It also has a very high brew endurance, maintaining its good character throughout multiple steeps (5+). Some tea has an amazing 1st or 2nd brew but falls flat right after. This tea is very resilient if brewed properly. This tea behaves exactly like the best parts of Tieguanyin. delivering an intensely clean, floral, and creamy profile while completely bypassing that unpleasant undertone "yuck" taste you sometimes taste in a typical Tie Guan Yin due to the way it is processed.

Method: Gaiwan Temperature: 95C Rinse: No Brewing time (sec): 10, 10, 15, 15, 15, 20 Hint of honey when opening, but when shaken in a warmed up gaiwan, very nice floral and roasted aroma comes out. This is a really good Mi Lan Xiang, Some Mi Lan Xiang has high fragrance but not much taste, this is different, it's not just perfumy and sweet but also has a robust yet smooth flavour. Absolutely beautiful colour, can't stop drinking this. I recommend 90-95C rather than 100C. Its enough to bring out the flavour without bringing out burning the leaves. Although I find that after the 3rd-4th brew, to extract the same flavour also carries with it a slight bitterness (not in a bad way) which is reasonable. You can't expect that wonderful floral and sweet notes in the 1st-2nd brew to last all the way through.

Very good aged shu pu-erh! Smooth, rich, and pleasant to drink. I enjoy its mellow taste and earthy aroma. Highly recommended!

Feels quite like your generic green tea, it doesn't have enough character compared to other green tea that is offered here. The curled leaves looks pretty though :) For that price I'd much rather recommend you a Chun Ya (Spring Bud) Green Tea or the En Shi Yu Lu (if you want a steam processed green tea)

Method: Gaiwan Temperature: 95C Rinse: No Brewing time (sec): 5, 5, 10, 10, 15 A very well balanced tea, sits right between a Mi Lan Xiang and Xue Pian. If you find Mi Lan Xiang a bit too sweet and perfumy, and find the Xue Pian a bit too cold / mineraly then this is perfect for you. Fragrance isn't on the nose but gradually develops throughout. A lingering smooth and sweet aftertaste. A tiny touch of astringency (in a good way) when trying to extract more during 3rd + consecutive brews. Overall, a very enjoyable tea that makes you want to keep sipping more and more. Tip: If you are trying this for the first time. DO NOT overbrew this tea more than 10sec in the first few infusions. A 5 sec in and out is sufficient

Upon opening a sample I did not expect that the small leaf curls smell highly floral, fruity and quite a few steps away from what I experienced as Keemun aroma before. The first two steeps are highly floral and fruity, almost perfume-like but in the best sense when it comes to something that is supposed to be drunk. The fruity component is something that's quite close to juicy peaches and apricots and to be frank I could be easily fooled if I tasted it blindly without any prior information. It tastes close to Jin Mu Dan and Hua Xiang Xiao Zhong, giving the luxurious impression of the latter (and they're priced almost the same). The mouthfeel is soft, giving a slight impression of skimmed milk and the finish is cooling and fragrant. It's very well balanced and I didn't notice anything "sticking out" taste wise. Only on third steep this tea is showing more of a black tea character and starts to slowly shift into the Keemun profile as I know it. But even by the end of the session there was a lot of that fragrance left and I poured cold water over the leaves and I'm going to leave it in the fridge just to see if anything more could be extracted from it, as I suspect that steeping it in how water would draw out less pleasant bitterness and astringency. The wet leaf is remarkable, I did not expect it to be this whole, and it's another mark of high quality and craftsmanship of this tea.

First impression is a very prominent and pleasant aroma like a sweet seaweed. The taste is sweet and nutty. Very re-steepable maintaining its flavour profile. Highly recommend. I am keen to try cold brewing this tea, I am sure it would be amazing

Method: Gaiwan Temperature: 85C Rinse: No Brewing time (sec): 15, 20, 40, 30 Has similarity to Japanese green tea due to its steaming method. However, if you are like me who likes Japanese green but find the grassy / vegetal taste to be too overwhelming, this tea is perfect for you. The defining feature is that It is very crisp and fresh, extremely drinkable. 2nd and 3rd brew was the best, showing its main traits. I find after the 4th brew, it loses a lot of its charm and becomes like a typical sencha.

The tea gave me very nice cha qi. I was honestly surprised about how long it made me feel a slighr buzz. Woodsy, with subtle floral notes that linger very long. Salivation is present and the returning sweetness especially present in the middle steeps. Important to not brew too strongly, otherwise astringency and bitterness get quite dominant quickly. Leaves are pretty, relatively intact and some buds full of white hairs can be seen.

I love the desgin of the handle. Has become my go-to pitcher. Glaze at the rim ever so slightly uneven, but it's barely noticeable.

Shou mei is my comfort tea, so this is a convenient form to reach for. I had a very similar variation from another vendor that had a slightly larger ball size and weight of compressed leaf. That larger size worked a touch better for my 160ml gaiwan and my 300ml bottle both. This product does deliver the rich and sweet flavor, just with a bit less thickness than the larger quantity. It would likely be great (for my preference) with a smaller brewing vessel.

Impressive durability and a nice rich flavor. I prefer a bold taste, which this tea delivered when I tried with my Mom who I gave it as a gift to. I was even more impressed that this green tea withstood the long 5 minute steep of boiling water without developing any bitterness. I have since bought a package for myself and enjoy bringing it out as a show piece with guests or when seeking the rich flavor.

A very decent green tea. The leaves are tiny and curled with fresh and slightly floral aroma. Gently blowing some hot air into them reveals a rich notes of butter and boiled chestnuts, which are clearly expressed in the first steep as well when I made it in a gaiwan. Second steep has them too but to a decreased degree, and by the third steep they're all but gone. However, this is where the tea turns in another direction by displaying more of a vegetal, herbal profile with a clean, gentle bitterness and plenty of umami. The aftertaste has a cooling effect in the throat and the palate. Steeping it in the glass gives a cross section of all of the above, albeit I distinctly enjoyed the first two steeps when I made it in a gaiwan.

An exceptionally tasty black tea that has won me over years ago, and I keep sampling it again almost every year. The leaves are thin, wiry, absent of tips and have a rich aroma of malt and caramel with some smoke in the background. From the first steep this tea presented itself very upfront sweet, layered with notes of malt, sweet potato, toasted coconut, raisins, and of course, caramel. Moments after taking a sip theres a certain savory, umamy experience that lingers for a short time, but the caramel note seems to linger much longer, making drinking this tea very indulging. The following steeps show more of the previously described, followed by a syrupy impression as each sip seems to add on to the sweetness receptors. There's some smoke too, but it's rather subtle compared to everything else, but wraps the drinking experience quite nicely. This tea holds well across the session, and despite the limited number of steeps this tea can fill a portion of the day just by drinking it slowly and enjoying the long, lingering aftertaste between the sips.
